Very close in flower color to D. crepiderferm, these plants are growing nicely for us in 2.5" pots in fine bark. They like to watered frequenly and now have reached a size where they seem to bloom at just about any time any season. Nice plants with 3-5 12" canes per pot plant.
Den Gonzayak (gonzalesii x miyakii) is a primary hybrid cross we made 4 years ago. They were really fast growing and we had flowering plants in less than 3 years! We used our awarded Den gonzalesii 'Blue Angel' AM/AOS with our awarded Den mikayii 'Scottsville' HCC/AOS & CHM/AOS as pod to develop this new hybrid. When grown in high light the foliage exhibits attractive purple pigmentation and the flower color in deep violet/ Blue! (My good friend Dolores Galbo of Buffalo NY, disbutes the reality of a 'blue' color saying that "...no orchid is really blue...." I guess shades of blue are in the eyes of the beholder!
Beautiful cluseters of pink flowers cover the canes every 4 months under optimum conditions. The plants bloom again and again on the old canes year after year. The 2-3 year old canes loose their leaves but bloom nonetheless.
Long-lasting white flowers appear year round but main bloom is in spring summer. Plants are minature standing less than 6 inches tall. Flowers repeatedly from old pseudobulbs as well as new growths. Evergreen type and does not require rest to initiate bloom. Flowers can last 2 months
